Distictive Unit Insignia, Description: A gold color metal sea horse, the dexter paw upholding a pair of silver color metal wings conjoined,
the sea horse within in base a three segmented blue scroll inscribed "FIRST AND FINEST" in gold color metal letters. The Device is 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in width.

Origin/meaning

The Sea Horse holding Wings, symbolizes the Seaborne Aviation Maintenance function of the Battalion. The arms were approved on 2 September 1965. The Distinctive Unit Insignia on 3 November 1965
It was amended to correct the symbolism on 9 February 1970.
