Origin/meaning
This was a World War II formation consisting mainly of the 1st Canadian Army and the 2nd British Army. Following the end of War in 1945 it become The British Army of the Rhine (BAOR). BAOR kept the 21st Army Group Insignia until disbandment in 1994. Literature:
