314TH FIGHTER SQUADRON, US AIR FORCE

History: Constituted as 314 Fighter Squadron on 24 June 1942. Activated on 6 July 1942. Redesignated as 314 Fighter Squadron, Single Engine, c. 1 May 1944. Inactivated on 7 November 1945. Redesignated as 314 Tactical Fighter Training Squadron on 5 May 1986. Activated on 1 October 1986. Redesignated as 314 Fighter Squadron on 1 November 1991. Inactivated on 1 April 1994. Activated on 6 July 2015. Combat in Mediterranean Theater and European Theater, 26 March-21 July 1943 and 20 October 1943-6 May 1945.
