5TH ROYAL IRISH LANCERS, BRITISH ARMY
History: Raised in 1689 as Wynne's Dragoons. Disbanded during the period 1799-1858. In 1861 redesignated as 5th (Royal Irish) Lancers. Disbanded in 1621 but reconstituted in 1922. The same Year amalgamted with the 16th The Queen's Lancers, British Army to form the 16th/5th Lancers.
