History: Constituted as 305 Fighter Control Squadron on 31 March 1943. Activated on 1 April 1943. Redesignated as 623 Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron on 2 July 1946. Inactivated on 8 July 1973. Redesignated as 623 Airborne Command and Control Flight on 23 November 1979. Activated on 1 January 1980. Inactivated on 1 June 1980. Redesignated as 623 Tactical Control Squadron on 18 January 1983. Activated on 1 April 1983. Redesignated as: 623 Air Control Squadron on 16 April 1992; 623 Air Control Flight on 1 August 1994; 623 Air Control Squadron on 15 April 2016.
