Coat of arms (crest) of the 82nd Finance Battalion, US Army

Official blazon

Argent a pair of wings conjoined, tips inverted Azure surmounted by a sword Gules, overall a lozenge with horizontal axis Argent bering a demi-sun in splendor issuing from a base Or. Crest: On a wreath of the colors, Argent and Azure, aquill and a key, bow to base saltirewise Or superimposed by a demi-palm tree Proper. Motto: All American Paymasters.

Origin/meaning

Argent/Silver Gray and golden yellow are the Finance Corps colours. The Colours Red, White and Blue also indicates the affilation to the 82nd Airborn Division "All American". The Wings symbolises the Airborne Mission. The Sword denotes military preparedness. The lozenge is adapted from the Finance Corps Branch Insignia and the demi-sun indicated the Unit's Baptism of Fire in Panama. The Quill and key symbolises the Paymaster functions and support. The Palm symbolises campaing participation in Southwest Asia.
