A knotted surcingle inscribed CANADIAN HUSSARS - PRINCESS LOUISE'S, surmounted by the Coronet of HRH Princess Louise. In the centre of the surcingle , the Roman numeral VIII, and below, a scroll bearing the motto REGI PATRIAEQUE FIDELIS / La Courunne de SAR. la princesse Louise surmonte un surfaix noué portant l'incription "CANADIAN HUSSARS - PRINCESS LOUISE'S"; au centre du surfaix apparaissent le chiffre romain "VIII" et au dessous une banderole avec la devise "REGI PATRIAEQUE FIDELIS".
