Escudo de ouro, duas ovelhas de azul realçadas de prata e postas em cortesia, entre uma cruz da Ordem de Cristo, em chefe e uma coroa real aberta, de vermelho, em ponta. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco, com a legenda a negro: “ ACHETE - SANTARÉM “.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 4, 2001.

The sheep refer to a possible origin of the name as 'a place of sheep'. The crows refers to the royal manor of King Ferdinand I. The cross is the cross of the order of Christ.
