ANSFELDEN

State : Oberösterreich
District : Linz-Land

Ansfelde.jpg

Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on October 28, 1985.

The organ pipes in the upper part of the arms symbolise the fact that Anton Bruckner was born in the village in 1824. He was a composer and is mainly famous for his (religious) organ music. The wheel symbolises the industry in the city, especially the paper mills.
The wavy bend symbolises both the Krems and Traun rivers that run through the municipality.

Literature : Baumert, H.E. : Oberösterreichische Gemeindewappen, Linz, 1996.
