Escudo partido. En el primero, de gules, un castillo de oro, mazonado de sable y aclarado de azur. En el segundo, de plata un león rampante de gules, linguado y uñado de lo mismo. Sobre el todo, una jarra de azucenas en sus colores naturales y la letra «T» de sable en su garganta; en jefe las letras «A» y «Q» en sus cantones diestro y siniestro; y en punta las letras «P S A» en sus cantones diestro, central y siniestro, todas de sable. Al timbre, corona de Infante, que es un círculo de oro, engastado de piedras preciosas, compuesto de ocho florones de hojas de acanto, visibles cinco, interpoladas de perlas.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 15, 2008.

The arms were granted to Antequera by Infante Don Fernando and show a Jar of Lilies, emblem of the Order of the Terrace. This Order was re-established in the Kingdom of Castile, having to his sides the lion and the castle, canting symbols of the own Kingdom of Castilla-Leon. The letters A T Q above and P S A below, mean Antequera Por Su Amor (Antequera for its love).
