Blason de Artois / Arms of Artois
Official blazon
French D'azur semé de fleurs de lis d'or, au lambel de gueules chaque pendant chargé chacun de trois châteaux d'or.
English No blazon/translation known. Please click here to send your (heraldic !) blazon or translation

Origin/meaning

The arms are identical to the arms of Robert (1216-1250), count of Artois and third son of king Louis VIII of France and Blanche of Castille. The label with the castles (for Castille) are used to differentiate the arms from those of the elder brother, King Louis IX (blue with golden fleur-de-lis).
