Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted by royal decree on December 12, 1953.
The arms are based on the arms on the seal of the village from 1581. The arms are those of the Pottes family, lords of the village, but without the shells on the bend. The village was a possession of the Pottes family since the 15th century. The family arms are known since 1334. Why the seal of the village did not show the three shells (scallops) on the bend is not known.
Compare also Pottes, where the shells have been replaced by canting pots.
