The division of the shield points to the Ozerain Valley in which the village is situated. The top quarter is based on the arms of the Bretagne family, former lords of the village, with the addition of 4 small bells for the chapel in Barain.
 
The turret refers to the local castle and the cow to agriculture. The base indicates the Kinghts of Malta, who played a mayor role in the local development.
