BAIS (MAYENNE)

Département : Mayenne

Blason de Bais (Mayenne)/Arms (crest) of Bais (Mayenne)
Official blazon
French D'argent à trois quintefeuilles d'azur rangées en pal et séparées par deux trangles de sable.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on February 26, 1999.

The silver and the three azure ciquifoils are taken from the coat of arms of the Marquis de Montesson, former ord of Bais. In addition two small bars were added, symbolising the Aron and Vaudelle, the two main rivers of Bais. The color and the arrangement of the bars on silver also symbolise the bark of a birch, thus symbolizing the name of the village (from the Gallic betua, birch).
