BALLINASLOE

County : Galway

Arms (crest) of Ballinasloe

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms show a tower triple towered with golden chains descending from the battlements derived from the O'Kelly arms. The two swords represent St. Michael, the patron saint of the town. The wavy bar symbolises the local river, and the horse in the lower part represents the great fairs in Ballinasloe.
