Département : Moselle

Bellesforets.jpg

Official blason

Origin/meaning

In 1973, Angviller lès Bisping and Bisping merged to become Belles-Forêts.

The arms thus show a quartered shield of Angviller lès Bisping and Bisping. Angviller lès Bisping was part of the provost of Dieuze (curved bends), and belonged to the Abbey of Vergaville (crosier). Bisping belonged to the collegiate chapter of Sainte Madeleine de Verdun, symbolised by the perfume vase. The Counts of Blieskastel chaired this college and had a rose in their arms.
