Borgsjö kommunvapen

Official blason

Fält kluvet av blått, vari en hand av silver med fingrar uppsträckta till edgång, och av silver, vari en krenelerad blå tornborg, samt under fältet en av en vågskura bildad, likaledes kluven stam av motsatta tinkturer.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 24, 1961.

The hand is taken from the seal of the Borgsjö parish from 1611. The tower (borg) is a canting element, and also refers to the fortress near the river. The wavy base is again canting (sjö=lake).
