Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: A shield-shaped device 3 1/4 inches (8.26 cm) in height and 2 1/4 inches (5.72 cm) in width overall, consisting of a gray background edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) scarlet border, on which is a gray tornado outlined and detailed scarlet.
Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: A silver color metal and enamel insignia 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a red shield partitioned into four quarters by silver division lines; on the first quarter an open scroll surmounted by a quill; on the second quarter the scales of justice; on the third quarter a representation of a tornado; on the fourth quarter a winged foot, all in silver; attached below the shield a red arched scroll inscribed “BRADFORD” in silver letters.
Origin/meaning
The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia originally approved 6 October 1976 was amended to add subdued colors and metric measurements on 27 June 1991. The Shoulder Loop Insignia was approved 28 November 1979.
