Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: On an orange vertical rectangle arched convexly at the top and bottom 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) orange border, three orange roads under a Brittany blue horizon defined by three black dividing lines radiating from the top left side to the right bottom side upon which is displayed a stalking panther with yellow eyes, highlighted Brittany blue. Arched above the panther, the inscription “CENTER LINE” in orange letters on a black arched rectangular scroll.

Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Tenné surmounted by a stylized snarling and pouncing panther affronty Proper, detailed, armed and langued Or. Attached above the shield, a Black scroll inscribed “CENTER LINE” and attached below the shield a Black scroll inscribed “PANTHERS” all in Gold letters.

Origin/meaning

Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: Orange and black are the school’s colors. The panther is the school mascot and symbolizes the ferocity of the unit. The three roads represent historically, the three Indian trails leading from the fort at Detroit to other trading posts in the northern wilderness of Michigan. The middle road represents the Center Line road upon which the city of Center Line was built.

Shoulder Loop Insignia: Orange and black are the school’s colors. The panther is the school mascot.

The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia and the Shoulder Loop Insignia was approved on 1 February 2006.
