CETINGRAD

County : Karlovac

Arms of Cetingrad

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on November 30, 1998.

The charter is a symbolic depiction of the charter signed on the New Year of 1527 on the Assembly of Cetingrad. At the Assembly the Croatian nobility elected Archduke Ferdinand Habsburg as king of Croatia. The charter was sealed with the seals of the highest Croatian nobility and the Great Seal of the Kingdom (with the chequy shield) and is among the most important documents of the Croatian statehood. It is preserved in the state archives in Vienna.
