The two Stars symbolises the Aircraft Carrier USS Antietam (CVS-36) which earned two Battle Stars for the Korean War. The Serpent indicates the first Navy Jack, the New Sensor system of the Ship, the quick striking capabilities of the Ship, it also alludes to the Copperhead Snake found in Maryland site of the Civil War Battle.
