Origin/meaning

The Diocese of Nancy was founded in 1777, it joined with Toul in 1824. Armoria Sedium gives the Arms of Nancy as "Or , on a bend gules three allerions argent, a chief azure, a crescent argent". The Arms of Toul is given as "Azure, a Stag's head caboshed argent, attried or with a cross fleury between the attries or, a border gules.
