Arms of Faaborg

Origin/meaning

The arms are known from a seal from 1524, but its style indicates an origin in the early 14th century.

The arms show the city walls and the position at the coast. The upper part shows the so-called Holy Land House, which was destroyed in 1396 and probably was used as the city hall.
