Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 6, 1994.

None of the 12 former municipalitie sused arms, so new arms needed to be devised. A sther ehave been many estates and rulers in the area, there was no common symbol. The current arms show the bends of the arms of the D'Orchimont family, Lords of Gedinne before 1676. They held the area in loan of the Dukes of Bouillon. The colours therefore are those of Bouillon.
