Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on 1979. The arms are based on the local Stone Coal Company. The Anchor also is indicative of the origins as a Fishing Port. The Torches
stand for the Mining industry. They where made black when the arms of the former City was registred for the enlarged Höganäs, to make the arms more distinctive.

The previous arms were granted in 1937.
