Origin/meaning
The badge shows the namegiving Albatross, surrounded by the Southern Cross indication location to Australia. HMAS Albatross is the name given to the Naval Aviation Base at Nowra, New South Wales. Following Royal Navy tradition of nameing Naval Aviation Bases after Birds.
