Official blazon
English Azure, a life preserver argent, cabled or, charged on the centre chief with a maple leafe slipped gules, and within the ring a star-burst also argent.

Origin/meaning

The life preserver is a rebus on the ship's name and with the maple leaf gains Canadian indentification. The starburst in the centre symbolises the flare that is automatically ignited when the life preserver hits the water.
