Origin/meaning

The Cannon indicate the Royal Naval Gunnery School (1831-1985), Frist Commissioned as HMS Excellent in 1891, and Re-commissioned in 1994 at Whale Island, Portsmouth. The Latin Motto translates as "To keep the peace perpare for war". The badge was approved in 1955.
