HACKÅS
Province (Landskap): Jämtland
County (Län): Jämtlands län
Additions : 1952 Näs, Sunne
Incorporated into : 1971 Berg (Jämtland), Östersund
Official blazon
I blått fält en uppskjutande, genomgående, krenelerad och med portvalv försedd mur samt däröver en störtad värja med rikt utvecklad handskydd och ett blåss i kors, allt av guld.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on June 29, 1956.
The arms show a sword, the so-called Skånke-sword in the local church, which supposedly was owned by the 14th century knight Örjan Karlsson.
I have no information on the meaning of the other elements.
