Origin/meaning

Hajdú-Bihar County was established in 1949-1950 from Hajdú County and Bihar County. The new county did not apply for new arms (which were forbidden). Only in 1991 the above arms were adopted, a combination of the arms of the two former counties. The supporters from the former Hajdú County were placed around both shields.
