Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: On a scarlet wedge shape emblem 3 inches (7.62 cm) in height overall, arched 3 inches (7.62 cm) wide at the top and converging to a 2 inch (5.08 cm) wide horizontal base, divided by an inverted white arch with the words “RAIDERS” inscribed in white letters on the scarlet background below and “HANNAH-PAMPLICO” in white letters on a scarlet scroll above. Both wedge and scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border and both overlaid with the black silhouette of a galloping horseman of the revolutionary era, holding a sword overhead, the point penetrant into the area of the scroll.

Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: A Silver color metal and enamel oval device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall, blazoned: Gules a crescent in sinister base bendwise sinister. Overall a galloping horseman of the revolutionary era holding a sword overhead Argent. Attached to chief a Black scroll inscribed “HANNAH-PAMPLICO” in base metal letters. Attached to base a Black scroll inscribed “HIGH SCHOOL” in base metal letters.

Origin/meaning

Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: Red and white are the school colors. The rectangular shape of the insignia describes the four-way cooperation between the unit, the student body, the faculty and the community.

Shoulder Loop Insignia: Red, white and black are the school colors. The revolutionary era figure on horseback is a symbol of the long-standing patriotism of the area. The crescent shape is taken from the state flag and is the emblem worn on the hats of the state’s revolutionary soldiers. These symbols honor the traditions of the school and community.

The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia and The Shoulder Loop Insignia was both approved on 25 October 2001.
