Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 3, 2006.

The horseshoe is a symbol of luck and was added to bring luck to the merger of the three former municipalities. It also symbolises the importance of horse riding and breeding in the municipality. The hops are a canting element (Hopfe=hops). The turtle is taken from the old arms Hönow.
