JOSEPH VON SCHORK

Born: December 7, 1829
Deceased: January 25, 1905

Archbishop of Bamberg, 1890-1905

Arms (crest) of Joseph von Schork

Official blazon

  • (de) Geviert von Gold und Blau; in 1 und 4 der Bamberger Löwe; in 2 und 3 ein facettierter silberner Stern.

Origin/meaning

The arms quarter the arms of the Archdiocese (I and IV) with the arms of the archbishop. He already used a star as personal arms before becoming Archbishop of Bamberg. The meaning, however, is not known.
