KARL-HEINZ WIESEMANN

Born : August 1, 1960
Deceased :

Auxiliary bishop of Paderborn, 2002-2007; Titular Bishop of Macriana Minor
Bishop of Speyer, 2008-present

Arms of Karl-Heinz Wiesemann

Auxiliary Bishop of Paderborn
Arms of Karl-Heinz Wiesemann

Bishop of Speyer

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

In the arms as auxiliary bishop the three water lily leaves represent the former Duchy of Engern, which used three (heraldic) water lily leaves. The city of Brilon, where he worked previously is located in the former Duchy (see also Brilon (kreis)). The harp symbolises his love for music.

As bishop of Speyer he used quartered arms, with in the first quarter the arms of the Diocese of Speyer and in the fourth the cross of the Archdiocese of Paderborn. The harp and water lily leaves remained, but the leaves are now shown in the shape as used in the former Duchy.
