KOLBNITZ (AN DER TAUBERBAHN)

State : Kärnten
District : Spittal an der Drau
Incorporated into : 1973 Reißeck

Wappen von Kolbnitz/Arms (crest) of Kolbnitz
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Gespaltener Schild: vorn in Grün auf silbernem Berg ein goldener Herkules mit Löwenhaut und Keule, hinten in Gold ein halbes rotes Peltonrad am Spalt.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 10, 1968.

The figure of Hercules refers to a Roman inscription, still to be found in the local Danielskapelle chapel, which shows a statement to reconstruct the former Temple of Hercules. Whether this temple ever existed in the area is not known, but the stone does indicate the long histroy of the village. The figue is standing on a small hill, symbolising the Danielsberg.

The turbine wheel symbolises the hydro-electric powerstation in the municipality, built in 1880. The red refers to the power of the station, the green to the nature in the area.
