LANGEBERG Local Municipality

Province: Western Cape (until 1994 Cape Province)
District Municipality : Cape Winelands

Arms of Langeberg

Official blazon

The municipality takes its name from an extensive mountain range (part of the Cape Folded Mountain system) that is the principal feature of its topography.

The area is known for its fruit production, which is symbolised by the bunch of grapes and the cornucopia. The grapes also indicate that the municipality is part of the Cape Winelands District.

The wavy partition line represents the many streams that flow out of the kloofs (gorges) along the mountains.
