Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 16, 1951.

The flatfish is taken from the oldest seal of the Tjust hundred from 1568, to which the area historically belonged. The crown is a symbol for the name of the parish as Duke Charles parish (Hertig Karls församling).
