LUZARCHES
Département : Val-d'Oise
Origin/meaning
The arms are supposedly granted in the 15th century by Marguerite, sister of the Duke of Orléans, and wife of Richard, Duke of Bretagne. The arms showed a fortified tower, with a small square shield showing the arms of Marguerite; in the right half the ermine tails of Bretagne (officially described as crosses, but shown as ermine tails), and on the left the three fleur-de-lis of the Royal arms of France, with a label for the Duchy of Orléans. The tower symbolises the tower built in the village in the 13th century.
