Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: On a blue rectangular shaped embroidered device convex at top and bottom, its overall dimensions 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width, edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) silver gray border, charged with a white pirate ship on the sea proper. Attached above, a blue scroll inscribed “MATANZAS” in white letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height. Attached below, a blue scroll inscribed “PIRATES” in white letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.

Origin/meaning

Blue, silver and white are the school colors. The school mascot is a pirate. The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved 28 July 2006.
