Origin/meaning

The arms quarter the arms of the Counts of Herbéviller-Lannoy, medieval lords of the village during the time the village was part of the Duchy of Lorraine. Late rthe village became a part of the State of Metz and the second and third quarter show the arms of the chapter of the cathedral of Metz.
