NO 211 SQUADRON, ROYAL AIR FORCE

History: Formed at Petite Snythe in March 1917 as No 11 Squadron, Royal Naval Air Service and renumbered on 1 April 1918.

Official blazon

A lion disjointed azure ducally crowned Or, armed and langued gules.
Motto: Toujours a propos.

Origin/meaning

The Lion is from the Arms of Bruges, it is disjointed to indicate the Action during the later part of World War I in breaking up the docks of the City by Bombing. The Motto translates as "Always at the right moment". The Badge was approved in July 1938.
