History: Formed at Netheravon in August 1942.

Coat of arms (crest) of the No 295 Squadron, Royal Air Force

Official blazon

A hand manacled and couped at the wrist proper holding a sword pomelled and hilted Or in its scabbard in bend sinister gules.
Motto: Ex caelo auxilium = Aid from the skies.

Origin/meaning

The Sword in the Scabbard symbolises delivery of Weapons to nations in enemy-held territory represented by the manacled hand. The badge was granted in July 1945.
