NO 40 GROUP HEADQUARTERS, ROYAL AIR FORCE
History: Formed at Andover in January 1939.
English | A griffin holding in the claws a sword. Motto: Et subsidium et praesidium |
Origin/meaning
The Group was responsible for the keeping and issue of equipment. The Giffin known to guard Treassure symbolises this. The Motto translates as ”Both a resource and a defence”. The Badge was approved in October 1952.
