NO 778 SQUADRON, FAA
History: First formed in 1939 at Royal Naval Air Station Lee-on-solent as a Service Trials Unit. All Aicraft Types and Tasks from various Bases where tested until 1948. Reformed in 1951, then disbanded into No 849 Squadron in 1952.
English | Blue; a pair of inside and outside callipers interlaced gold. Motto: Ex quaestione veriats |
Origin/meaning
The Callipers symbolises the Trials function. The Latin Motto translates as "From examination the truth emerges. The badge was approved in 1945.
