Official blazon

Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: On a blue rectangular shaped embroidered device convex at top and bottom, charged with a white griffin detailed red perched upon a white embattled wall its gaze upon a red fleur-de-lis fimbriated white, all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) red border. Attached above, a white scroll inscribed “NORTH DESOTO” in blue letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height. Attached below, a white scroll inscribed “HIGH SCHOOL” in blue letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width.

Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall charged with a blue fleur-de-lis between two silver treasure chests and two silver griffins combatant all depressing a red bricked tower. Attached below, a blue scroll inscribed “GRIFFINS” in silver letters.

Origin/meaning

Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: Red, white and blue are the school colors. The griffin is the school mascot. The embattled wall symbolizes the building blocks of the knowledge and skills gained through education. The fleur-de-lis represents the state of Louisiana and Desoto Parish, the location of the school.

Shoulder Loop Insignia: Red, white and blue are the school colors. The tower symbolizes the strong stonewall for building academic skills and knowledge. The fleur-de-lis represents the Desoto Parish. The treasure chests allude to the wealth to be gained as a well adjusted citizen in an ever changing world. The griffin is the school mascot, symbolizing vigilance and strength.

The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia and the Shoulder Loop Insignia was both approved on 27 March 2007.
