Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1932 and confirmed in 1976.

The origin of the bows is not clear, in the official document when the arms were granted it is described as a symbol for the awareness and the activity of the municipality. The bridge in the lower part of the arms is canting (the name means new bridge).
