Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro, em maiúsculas: “ SÃO MARCOS DA SERRA “.

The men are Moors (Arabs) as this village is in the region of Silves, the former Moorish capital of the Algarve region. The river signifies the river Odelouca running through the village, the church is the village church, the wheat sheaf signifies that this is a key wheat growing area.
