SANKT GOTTHARD IM MÜHLKREIS
State : Oberösterreich
District : Urfahr-Umgebung
German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on February 29, 1988.
The two castle towers refer to the Eschelberg and Rottenegg castlels and estates in the municipality. The two estates were joined in 1712 and remained in the hands of the same family until 1912. The cross refers to the St. Florian Abbey, to which the local church belonged.
Literature : Baumert, H.E. : Oberösterreichische Gemeindewappen, Linz, 1996.
