Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 16, 1954.

The arms show three keys, shich are designed to show the municipality's initial letter. The keys also represent the type associated with grain sheds in the areaand symbolizes both the district's fertility and the municipality's central location, its "key role" in the west part of Finland.
