The Pale symbolises Military Strength and the Number 1. The Wavy Arrow represents the Readiness to deploy to any locality to perform its mission. The Orle refers to the continuing courage of the personnel of the Battalion.

The Coat of Arms and Distinctive Unit Insignia, was both approved on 25 October 2005.
